Bernice Pauline MacGregor, age 91, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility surrounded by her family.  Bernice was born on September 8, 19224 in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Benjamin and Hulda (Engstrom) Hotchkiss.  On August 28, 1943, she married Lauchlin S. MacGregor in Bay City.

     Bernice was a home maker and was along with her husband, owner of Lockie’s Free Press Service.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was very active in the church.

     Survivors include her children:  Susan and John Jones of Lansing, Lauchlin Jr. MacGregor of DeWitt, Timothy and Kristin MacGregor, Edward and Laura MacGregor, Cynthia and Todd Greenlee, James and Janette MacGregor and Michael and Tracy MacGregor, all of Mt. Pleasant.  Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and one on the way, and her sister, Patricia Anderson of Essexville.  She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, a brother and a sister.

     A memorial service celebrating Bernice’s life will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 4 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Jonathon Bakker and Pastor Benjamin Ulledalen officiating.  Interment of the cremated remains will be interred next to her husband in Memorial Gardens at a later date.  Family and friends will gather at a meal following the memorial service in the church’s fellowship hall.  Memorial contributions have been suggested to Zion Lutheran Church or Woodland Hospice.  Envelopes are available at the Rowley Funeral Home or the church.
